Since the beginning of this year, there has been an ongoing battle between two popular Web 2.0 services regarding online status reporting - Facebook and Twitter. Facebook’s adjustment of their API last week now allows Twitter to directly change the previously protected status directly.

By simply accessing your Facebook account and adjusting the Twitter application (we’re assuming you have already added to your Facebook profile), there now appears at the top a NEW option asking if you would like to update your Facebook status directly from Twitter. After the normal permissions have been granted, the status updates in Facebook will soon reflect your last Twitter.
Please be aware if you Twitter often, the updates are NOT automatic. The Twitter app in Facebook updates approximately every 30 minutes or so which means if you Twitter often, every update may not immediately appear right away.
Twitter is a very popular service used around the world including Japan. It fully supports double-byte characters - as does Facebook.

Yep, another more addictive way to enjoy this app, on the move my preference is using http://m.twitter.com on Opera Mini. Saves costs texting in your current manoeuvres.

Love it! Thanks have been looking to complete the loop for ages. I had managed to get Status updates out to my twitter, but not vice-versa.
One problem, which Fiona references above: since Facebook prepends “Brian is..” to all of its updates and Twitter doesn’t, to keep things tidy I need to start every twitter with a present progressive noun or description. Bit limiting. Any workarounds?
Brian is… installing Twitter Tools… …a complete idiot … looking for a fix for this problem…
